ROXUL COMFORTBATT®

ROXUL COMFORTBATT® is a stone wool insulation product for use in both new residential construction and renovations. This semi-rigid batt has a unique flexible edge designed to compress as the batt is inserted into walls, attics, ceilings and floor frames. The flexible edge springs back, expanding the batt against the frame studs to give a complete fill. ROXUL COMFORTBATT® compensates for normal variations in stud centres caused by distortion or warping. The special flexible characteristic at the insulation edge ensures the expected R-value is achieved.

I live in the basement. I was cold all the time and no matter how high I turned up the furnace my basement would not retain the heat. I installed additional heat registers but to no avail and the heating bills were getting absurd. I finally decided to rip out all the walls and reframe so I could insulate properly. My house is 118 years old with a cinderblock foundation. I decided on the ROXUL Comfortbatt R22. The actual insulation installation was completed in a weekend. ROXUL is so easy to use and since it can be cut with a bread knife the work goes swiftly. It is so dense that is stands up on its own without sagging making for a no muss no fuss install. I love that it is water resistant and does not promote mildew both being concerns in my older home. It also offers excellent sound control. I no longer hear the traffic over the bridge. My basement is now warm and retains heat. I can sleep comfortably and without traffic noise. The price is remarkable for what you get in return and it only increases the value of your home. I picked this up myself and there was always plenty of stock. I think the only downside was I could only fit 4 in my car at a time but they are light enough that I could manage on my own. I performed the entire renovation solo and the easiest part was the insulation. I would and have recommended this product to many people and installed it recently in my mothers home for the exterior wall under the stairs.

Used it in my basement walls. Great for insulation and very water repellent. Cuts easily. It's a bit finicky and crumbles more readily than I would have expected. Best to figure out exactly where you want it and never move it again.

    Comments about ROXUL COMFORTBATT®:

The ROXUL batts are so easy to install and have so much to offer that its a an easy decision for me. When doing a large room it can get pricey when you throw in the safe n sound as well, but you have to look at it as an investment. Don't use an exacto to cut it and do not squish the batts.

      Comments about ROXUL COMFORTBATT®:

I ended up doing a full gut-renovation of an old home in New England and found there was no insulation in the walls or ceilings. After some research, ROXUL appeared to be the best option for me to put in myself - none of the toxicity of the pink stuff, easy to cut and install and a great R value. Not to mention the fire proofing qualities! I have now insulated my entire house from top to bottom with ROXUL and the difference is immediately apparent. I recommend ROXUL to everyone considering insulation/home repair!

I live on a busy street and the rooms are a lot quieter than the room I insulated a couple of years ago with fiberglass insulation.
