  • Code changes of the IBC Chapter 26 and the testing standards of NFPA 285

 This program is about how insulation performs while in service. In deciding between these materials, one must choose from many factors such as initial installation cost, service cost, disposal cost and socio-economic impact. Participants will learn how various temperatures and humidity levels may affect thermal performance.

Participants will Learn:

  • The raw materials used in manufacturing stone wool
  • Identify fundamental difference between stone wool and foam insulation
  • Explain Thermal Drift - an ongoing characteristic of foam insulations and the impact on in-service energy costs

  • Explain how stone wool helps extend the life of a roofing membrane
  • Sustainable aspects of stone wool
  • Environmental benefit of using stone wool
  • Life safety features
